Black Horse Village Players

Our theatre group came together in the early 1970's opening the first season with Snow White. Tottenham Town Hall, was home to theVillage Players for the first three seasons, followed by the Royal Canadian Legion. A few years later the Players moved into their present building, the Enniskillen Hall of the Loyal Orange Lodge, built in the late 1940's. The theatre group changed its name to Blackhorse Village Players to recognize the new location near the historic Blackhorse Inn.

In 1983 BVP purchased the building and land after many successful fund-raising efforts, including matching assistance from Wintario.

The BVP is fully owned and operated on a volunteer basis by its membership and is a registered charitable organization.
    
For many years the BVP have been delivering quality entertainment to the residents of King and South Simcoe. A standard season sees the production of four plays in various themes including drama, comedy, suspense and the occasional musical.

As a rule the members strive to choose material that is challenging to the audience as well as the players. In recent years the BVP have taken on several important plays such as "Foolin' Around With Infinity", "Communicating Doors", "Dangerous Obsession" and "Five Women Wearing The Same Dress".

The theatre arts community is alive and well in our region and BVP is proud to count itself among the leaders in delivery of content that aspires to enlighten as well as entertain.
