Children will enjoy Rumpelstiltskin at Blackhorse
Monday December 31 2007
The Blackhorse Village Players present their third annual Children's Holiday Production this weekend.
'Rumpelstiltskin,' a story of a strange little miser who offers to help a young girl only to satisfy his own greed, will be presented this Saturday and Sunday, January 5 and 6. The play promises plenty of audience participation to delight the young and the young at heart.
Director Cheryl Phillips is back in the director's chair for the children's show and is enjoying every minute of the process.
Noted Phillips: "after directing 'Patchwork' two years ago and witnessing the positive response from the young audiences, I was hooked. It is truly an enjoyable experience to see a theatre full of children (and parents) become so involved in a story and interacting with the characters on stage. Last year the demand for seating for the 'Wizard of Oz' was huge ... The children love the interaction and that influences the type of plays we do, that is what makes them so popular."
After the show, children can meet the cast and have their pictures taken with their favourite character(s). Parents should bring their cameras.
