Youth debuts on STAGE
A group of Caledon students, ages 15-18, have dedicated creativity, talent and time to participate in STAGE (Student Theatre for Awareness Guidance and Education). Their performance, Who We Are will debut Nov. 28 and run through Nov. 30 at Blackhorse Village Players Theatre.
Who We Are is the collaborative work developed over several months by STAGE participants. Set in a high school cafeteria, youth struggle through adolescence and are forced to deal with the obstacles life throws at them.
"STAGE youth have made a remarkable commitment to this project," said Deb Robertson, program manager of STAGE. "They have to balance school, part-time jobs, homework and other commitments with their passionate commitment to the STAGE project. They are a talented and wonderful group of young adults and we are proud to be associated with them."
STAGE is an action-oriented, violence prevention program addressing a variety of themes related to youth victimization and conflict resolution. The youth program is offered through a partnership between Caledon Community Services and Caledon Youth Services. STAGE is made possible through funding from the Ministry of the Attorney General, Ontario Victim Services Secretariat.
