Blackhorse Village Players is offering a supportive and stimulating environment for the STAGE artistic director, Mary Horzempa, to facilitate workshops and develop performance pieces.
STAGE (Student Theatre for Awareness Guidance and Education) is a theatre-based project for youth 14 to 18 years of age to explore issues surrounding youth victimization. Caledon Community Services is overseeing this exciting new initiative in partnership with Caledon Youth Services.

As long-time supporters of many community-based projects, BVP believes strongly about the responsibility to identify and support effective programs that truly make a positive difference in the quality of life of people in this community. BVP is a registered charitable organization that came together in the early 1970s and in 1983 bought its building and land located on Mount Wolf Road and Highway 9 in Caledon. It's fully owned and operated on a volunteer basis by its membership, who encourage youth participation through member sponsorship, as it's a tremendous opportunity to maintain and develop support for tomorrow.
"Youth are not only the future - they are the present. They are in our audience, auditioning for our shows, volunteering for our company." said current BVP president Cheryl Phillips. "For many years, the BVP have been producing quality theatre and is proud to count itself among the leaders in delivery of content that aspires to enlighten as well as entertain. The STAGE Project seems like a perfect fit and something BVP can support wholeheartedly."
The STAGE Project will be bringing its performances to venues across Caledon in the next several months. Watch for future announcements on dates and locations.
